Story behind the Picture

I will never forget taking this picture. It was August 2016, and my first full day in Tehran on a 2-week trip that I was doing back to Iran by myself. I was going to see a very good friend of mine, when I came across these two taxi drivers who had parked their cabs, put down a blanket, and started having breakfast together. I just loved this scene for how authentic and genuine it was. I asked them if I could take a picture, and they agreed. But since the street was busy, I had to take that picture really fast. In fact, if you look closely, you can see that they both want to smile, but they still had their mouths full of food. It’s an incredibly meaningful picture because it represents how down-to-earth Persian culture is.
