Story behind the Picture
The Nasir Ol Molk Mosque, is famous for its incredibly vibrant colors. It is named in popular culture as the Pink Mosque due to the usage of considerable pink colour tiles for its interior design. Shiraz itself is one of the oldest Iranian cities, with a vibrant culture of art and craftsmanship and a rich history, both of which are on spectacular display at the Nasir Ol-Molk Mosque. Knowing its popularity among tourists, I always go there ahead of its opening hours and offer the guard a little “Shirini” (something sweet, a tip) to let me in ahead of everyone else. That’s how I manage to capture mosque at a time when it’s not overly crowded.
