Story behind the Picture
These are handcrafted marble tiles that are decorating part of the facade of the Grande Mosquée Hassan II in Casablanca. It’s the largest mosque in Africa, and the 5th largest in the world. It has the world’s tallest Minaret at 210 meters (close to 700 feet) and was built in 1993. A maximum of 105,000 worshippers can gather together for prayer: 25,000 inside the mosque hall and another 80,000 on the mosque's outside ground. A very beautiful and colorful capture that makes for a wonderful piece of decorative art.
