Welcome Stranger (who is just not my friend yet)!

My name is Omid Scheybani and I'm a San Francisco-based Polyglot, Culture Explorer, Smartphone Photographer, Technology Adi- & Aficionado, Forward Thinker, Solution-oriented Doer, Thoughtful Writer, Passionate Learner, and a Striving Designer.

The following pages are meant to give you a glimpse into my joyful life and busy mind; a centralized place where you can read up on my ideas, thoughts and projects.

I'm a German-born Iranian working and living in beautiful San Francisco. I grew up in a small town in traditional Bavaria and did my undergrad degree in Business Administration in Germany and Argentina. I used to work for Google between 2009 and 2015 – moving between various regions and offices (Dublin, NYC, San Francisco) and working primarily on business development topics for our cloud computing business (sales, distribution, partnerships, etc.).

I loved my job not just because it was intellectually challenging, but also because it allowed me to work (and travel) throughout Latin America, and therefore pursue my big passion for emerging markets. Outside of Google, I spent a lot of time developing new skills, learning about technology and trying to put a smile on the faces of the people I care about. In the summer of 2015 I left Google to pursue my MBA at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Upon realizing that I only have one shot at this thing called "life", I set myself two goals. Professionally, to change societies by bringing disruptive technology to emerging markets all around the world. Personally, to make a difference in other peoples' lives and to share my cultural and personal insights (hence, the term "World Culture Storyteller").
